FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Yes, we program S+S to be accessible no matter your fitness level. In the Stairmaster portion of the class YOU chose your pace… this is a pace that you can comfortably keep for the entire round. This is also a great way to track progress, as you start incorporating S+S into your regular routine you will notice your base pace increase and likely an improvement in your respiratory rate. You also always choose your own weights for the strength portion of the class… if you need to move slower you are encouraged to listen to your body and move at the pace that supports you. ALL ARE WELCOME AT ALIGN.

  • Yes, all of our yoga classes are taught in a way that makes the flow approachable. In the beginning of class postures are cued and broken down in a way so that students can learn how to move their body and really understand the pose. As class progresses and gets more challenging, students are always encouraged to take modifications–really just do whatever feels best and safe in YOUR body.

  • The largest muscles in your entire body exist in your lower half with your glutes being the largest muscle in your body. By training your lower body frequently it has been scientifically proven to strengthen your entire body. Remember your body is one organism, and compound exercises (like the squat, deadlift, hip thrust) recruit the most muscle fibers which require more energy, metabolism and natural growth hormone in order to repair. AKA training your lower body often, produces the most bang for your buck and results in a total body change.

  • All classes at Align are 50 minutes from start to finish. You get a killer workout done in under an hour!

  • Our classes are small and max out at 16 people, so that clients receive individualized guidance and support.

  • Yoga mats are needed for the Yoga and the Step Activate Flow classes. We have rentals available for $3 a mat or you can opt to bring your own!

  • The intentional programming at ALIGN allows you to take class as often as you like. Since we alternate the muscle group focus, you are able to take class 7 days a week because your muscles are getting a chance to repair as we focus on a different muscle group each day.

  • This varies from person to person, but if you’re looking to see the fastest physical and mental improvements we recommend coming at least 3-4x a week.

  • At ALIGN we offer everything your body needs for optimum health and fitness. Yoga is a place to connect with yourself and your body. It’s a time to slow down and practice presence. The physical, mental, and emotional benefits of practicing yoga make it the perfect complement to a strength training and cardiovascular workout program.

  • Step + Strength is our signature class with 3 rounds of Stairmaster and 3 rounds of Strength work on the floor. Each round is about 7-8 min of work, so transitions happen quickly and the rounds fly by. In S+S Foundations we slow things down just a bit, the exercises are broken down and there is more time to complete exercises before jumping to the next thing.. S+S Foundations is an amazing place to start if you are new to weight training or are just getting back into working out. To be honest, even advanced exercisers can enjoy our foundations class as a chance to really slow things down and feel the burn.
